The ICE database contains approximately 19 million musical works. ICE processes 2.8 million new work registrations from publishers and writer members each year. ICE updated 4.6 million musical works last year to make them ready for licensing and distribution.

What is ICE?
ICE is a world class service centre for the global management of rights.
It allows the music industry to explore and use our extensive works and production database, and facilitates reporting, matching and distribution for all rights, including mechanical, online and performing rights. It also enables you to keep track of international usage, analyse data and guarantee payments – maximising the value of each rights holder’s work.
We offer a professional, reliable and efficient service, which enables music societies to manage copyright, and helps organisations, music societies and interested parties adapt to the challenges they face in today’s ever-changing rights management business.
We provide browser-driven database administration solutions. These solutions let you to track and manage music usage across all media, including emerging market segments such as music downloads and Internet airplay.
How it all started
On October 13th in 2006, CEOs of the Swedish collecting society STIM and the British collecting society PRS for Music, sat down and discussed the future of the collecting societies. Faced with a number of difficult challenges, the outcome of these discussions ended in the creation of ICE – a jointly owned back office for professional copyright services.
The success of ICE continues and new services, of great value to the music industry, are being designed and delivered.
