ICE to welcome Teosto, TONO, and STEF to the ICE Core, expanding Nordic repertoire

18 September 2025

International Copyright Enterprise (ICE), the leading integrated hub for music licensing, processing, and rights management for creators, publishers, and societies, today announced Finland’s Teosto, Norway’s TONO, and Iceland’s STEF are the latest CMOs set to join its market-leading online licensing representation, ICE Core.

Existing customers of ICE’s copyright services, the three organisations collectively represent more than 95,000 songwriter, composer, lyricist, and publisher members across Finland, Norway, and Iceland. Following a detailed and robust process to assess their options, Teosto, TONO, and STEF aim to begin a phased onboarding to the ICE Core for online licensing and processing from January 1, 2026. They will join the 10 other major collection societies and independent publishers licensed by ICE across more than 245 territories and growing.

“Licensing online services and social media platforms that operate across multiple countries has become increasingly complex and challenging. At Teosto, our goal is to partner with the strongest industry players and international networks to ensure our rightsholders receive the greatest value from their rights. I believe that working with ICE Core will provide the best value for our members in international online licensing going forward. We look forward to collaborating with ICE,” said Risto Salminen, CEO Teosto.

“We are very pleased to announce our partnership with ICE Core. This agreement provides us with a broader international network, more competitive terms, and the opportunity to deliver faster payouts to our members. It also strengthens our capabilities in data access and analytics, which will be a key driver in the continued development of both TONO and our members. The agreement is part of a deliberate new direction for TONO and marks an important shift in pace. Our ambition is clear: to create value for everyone who creates and for everyone who uses music,” said Karl Vestli, CEO of TONO.

“We are excited to welcome Teosto, TONO, and STEF into the growing ICE Core,” said Peter de Monnink, CEO of ICE. “As existing copyright customers of ICE, their choice to additionally trust us with licensing and processing is a testament to the strength of both our online services and our integrated end-to-end operations. We value the confidence these societies have placed in us to expand our services and represent the rights of their members, for whom we are committed to securing the best possible representation and returns.”
